Frequently Asked Questions
All applicants MUST complete a Redwood County Application. To apply for a position you must apply on-line by going to the Redwood County website and click on the Employment Opportunities tab to apply. Detailed information about the position can also be found on the Redwood County employment portal.
Complete your application on-line and at the bottom of the application there is a save button so that you can save information as you proceed through the application. This information will also be stored in you account profile so if you were to apply for a position in the future you information will automatically be populated for the new application and all you need to do is make any changes that have occurred since the last time you applied. Once you have completed the application there will be a button to submit your application. If you are ready to submit your application simply click on the submit application button. If you are not ready you can save your progress but clicking the save button and finish later or whenever you are ready to submit.
No – All applicants MUST complete their application on-line.
The employment Portal site may also be accessed from a smart phone or tablet if one is available. If you do not have internet access you could go someplace that has free WiFi such as a local library and use a public computer there. You can also come to the Redwood County Government Center and use the computer in the lobby area.
Yes – Once your have created an account you can set it up so that everytime a new job is posted you can be notified. But you must set up an account first in order to have this happen. Once you have your account set-up go under your account setting and click Yes that you want to receive email notifications. You can also subscribe to the Redwood County mailing list. By doing this you will get the Redwood County Newsletters, Public and Official Notices, Employment Postings and News and Information about Plum Creek Park.
Once you submit your application you will receive an email within a couple of days that your application has been received and is being reviewed.
If you are chosen for an interview you will receive an email to contact the Redwood County Administrators Office to set up a date and time for your interview.
If you are not chosen for an interview will receive an email stating that you were not chosen to interview.
Once you have been interviewed for a position if you are chosen for the position you will receive a phone call to see if you accept the position.
If you are not chosen you will receive an email stating that you were not chosen and the position was offered to someone else.
Yes – But only if you requested to apply for the points on the application AND the Veteran’s Preference form is completed AND submitted. When you are filling out your application, there will be questions pertaining to Veteran’s Preference Points. You will need to answer these questions and complete the Veteran’s Preference Information in order to receive Veteran Preference Points. This information will be kept with your application. If the box to request the points is not marked and the information that is requested is not completed AND submitted, Veteran’s Preference points will not be given. Both of these items MUST be completed.
