Helpful Resources
CDL
Commercial drivers are required to maintain current medical information on their driving record. Failure to do so may result in no CDL privileges and downgrade to a class D license.
To prevent the loss of your commercial driving privilege and possible action by law enforcement agents, you must keep your information up to date. If your medical or operating status changes, or if your medical documents expire, you must complete and submit a new self-certification form (PS33203). If required, you must submit a copy of your current medical examiner’s certificate and/or waiver with the self-certification form.
If the CDL is downgraded because of failure to submit the required medical examiner’s certificate, the driver may reinstate their CDL and endorsements within one year, by submitting a valid medical examiner’s certificate with the self-certification form. If downgraded or voluntarily surrendered for more than one year, the driver must retake the applicable CDL knowledge and road tests and reapply for the CDL
New to MN
If you are coming new to state or returning back to Minnesota, we will need additional documents to get you a MN driver’s license or ID card. To get the standard (non-federally compliant) license/ID the minimum documents would be one primary and one secondary from the DL for All list in link below.
Help me choose what type of license: See below Minnesota Licenses and ID Cards
New residents have 60 days after moving to the state to obtain a Minnesota driver’s license. If you are under the age of 21 or your out of state license is expired, you will NEED to take the written test before applying for your Minnesota driver’s license. Written tests are offered in Redwood Falls ONLY on Thursdays 10:00 am-11:00 am, appointment is needed to secure a chair.
Name change: If you have EVER had a name change, you will need to bring in ANY and ALL name change documents with you when you apply.
New to Minnesota vehicle transfer (not changing owners)
We can get your vehicle registered in the state of Minnesota with the vehicles current title and all registered owners listed on the title or a current registration card with all registered owners, showing proof of ownership.
